Without Essence empowering her physical form, the strain her increased stats put upon her would tear her muscles, weaken her joints, and even crack her bones if she allowed it to go too far. When the time came to use it, she would need her Spirit to be high enough for the Domain to still be effective.īut increasing her stats willy-nilly without the appropriate cultivation would be hard on her actual body. That didn’t mean she could ignore it completely, however. She would mostly need it when she could open her Domain, which would be a while from now. As much as she needed to focus on Body to raise her strength, speed, and resistances, and Mind to a lesser extent to improve her reactions, she needed to keep her Spirit up a little too. That meant two points went to her Body and one to her Mind, leaving one last point for Spirit, for the moment. Rieren nearly followed the same pattern of adding the stats as she had before. She would sell it when the time called for it. ![]() For now, Rieren tucked it away in her tunic. At least, not if her victims were more E-Grade Abyssals. Further killing wasn’t going to give her anything. Killing the monster had granted her the second achievement. They were tools for maintaining the peace. Legends maintained that these creatures were let loose by their masters upon any who dared to break treaties and ceasefires. The Armistice Enforcers were minor Abyssals in terms of power, ones she barely remembered from her past life. Many more lie in wait, though how many will you kill before you yourself fall?Īh, yes. The tiny frustration she felt at her body’s reaction was swept away when she received her achievements.įirst monstrous kill! You’ve vanquished your first apocalyptic foe, a Grade I Abyssal: Armistice Enforcer. ![]() ![]() Her limbs were shaking, though, and her heart was still beating like a bellows. Thankfully, Divine Resilience was already healing her up. Wouldn’t be surprising if she had broken something. Despite the Abyssal’s body cushioning much of the fall’s impact, her arm and her kidney area ached as though someone was pounding on them with hammers. “Flesh rent and bones crushed, was it?” Rieren said, pulling herself off the carcass.
